Co-Parenting Class
for Counselors.
Face to face workshop in two four hour sessions. Online interactive class
with online testing– 8 hours.
This class information and format can be used to assist clients in
functional co-parenting.
Class description:
“We learn to parent in our family of origin where we grew up.
Sometimes we are happy with our childhood and how we were parented and
sometimes we hated it. If you were someone who hated your parent’s style of
parenting, you may have told yourself you would not “do” that to your children.
When the chips are down, if you have not given yourself other options or tools,
you will revert to the same methods your parents used. This happens because
that is all you know. This class will offer new effective parenting tools. The
tools are nurturing and teach your child instead of punishing.”
Eight classes
addressing co-parenting issues. Includes; communication, conflict resolution,
rights, control, boundaries, depression in yourself and your child, healthy anger
expression, discipline, parenting tips, parenting styles-how they help or
hinder, telling without talking-paying attention to your child, and more.
Course meets the qualifications for eight hours of continuing education credit for
MFTs, LPCCs, LEPs, and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of
Behavioral Sciences. Refunds are given if the course is canceled. Enrollment
fee can be refunded or transferred to another class with 30 day notice prior to
scheduled class.
