Counseling Course for Therapists. How to teach clients anger management for healthy expression. Face to face workshop in one four hour session-4 CE hours. Online interactive class-8 CE hours.


How to teach clients anger management for healthy expression. This course offers a concise outline in anger management. This format can be used in your practice. It gives you all the tools to take the client from inappropriate and/or abusive anger to healthy anger expression.
Goals of this workshop is to demonstrate that anger is a force that can be used for good when healthy strategies thinking are in place. To reduce levels of anger in provocative situations and to learn effective coping behaviors in order to halt escalation and to resolve conflicts.  Class can be taken online or face to face.

This course offers a concise outline in anger management to be utilized in your practice in  individual, group, family, marital, child, teen, and relationship therapy. It give you all the tools to take the client from inappropriate and/or abusive anger to healthy anger expression.


Goals of this course:

To demonstrate that anger is a force that can be used for good when healthy strategies thinking are in place. To reduce levels of anger in provocative situations and to learn effective coping behaviors in order to halt escalation and to resolve conflicts.

This course will give you information and outline to teach clients how to turn anger into healthy, productive skills such as:

Anger Management for Healthy Expression includes:

*Introduction to healthy anger expression.
*Notice your feeling. Noticing allows early expression.
*Becoming aware of anger early.
*Discussion of domestic violence.
*Express yourself in a healthy non-violent manner.
*Self-talk that increases your angry feelings and how to change the inner voices.
*Directions for changing negative self-talk to positive.
*Discussion of distorted thinking patterns.
*What's bugging you?
*Exploration of triggers to angry feelings.
*Fair Fighting.
*Resolution vs revolution.
*Self soothing tips. Getting physical and how to lower anger levels and keep your cool.
*Ways to keep anger from exploding.
*Family of origin issues. What is in your basket. What to keep and what to throw.
*How what you learned growing up affects your behaviors and your relationship now.
*Personal rights, boundaries.
*The Myth about control.


Course meets the qualifications for four hours of continuing education credit for MFTs, LPCCs, LEPs, and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Refunds are given if the course is canceled. Enrollment fee can be refunded or transferred to another class with 30 day notice prior to scheduled class.
